Rules on Electronic Devices on Planes

Stewardess “Sir, you have to turn your phone off”
Me “I have it in flight mode, I’m just reading”
Stewardess “Is this your 1st time flying!?”
Me “No, is it yours? I know for a fact that I’m not interfering with the plane”
Stewardess “Turn it off”

And it went on and on…

For years now, supposed informed airline staff have been telling us that we need to turn off all our electronic devices – even if it doesn’t transmit any signals. Many of us believed our phones never interfered with a the aircraft functions while up in the air. There are some that said that once on the ground your phone “could” interfere with ground control systems.

Now we can confirm it was all bollocks!

I always assumed that the airlines just wanted to keep the air space for themselves and charge you extra for using their wifi. But now the FAA in America have come out with this article http://techland.time.com/2013/10/31/faa-oks-air-passengers-using-gadgets-on-planes/ Wiki article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_phones_on_aircraft

I never turned it off. Me “Told you so! You stuck up ill informed…”
