Updates to the Facebook Live API are being introduced for publishers and developers of Facebook Live broadcasts to create more seamless livestreams.

An automated encoder configuration update will now provides preview, start, and stop states for your encoder, and automatically configures it to the optimal settings for a Facebook Live broadcast, so you can be confident that you’re broadcasting the highest quality Live video to Facebook every time without having to manually adjust settings before every broadcast.

Frame-accurate start times will also be available removing the confusing over whether a live API broadcast is in fact live to viewers.

Publishers that programmatically connect to the Live API can enable these new features within their broadcast setup or work with a video solutions provider who has incorporated the features.
