For me personally, I don’t care that much about the insides of phones.

I need it to do a few simple things

  1. Have a battery that doesn’t need charging every 5hrs
  2. Big enough that I can store my most essential apps, games, and photos as soon as I open it
  3. Take amazing photos on both front facing and back facing cameras
  4. Look stylish
  5. Have a screen that can handle at least a few drops before shattering into a million pieces over a bathroom floor.

Therefore features are just icing but not essential.

The new Honor View 10 promises me that not only will I get a decent phone that lasts, but also comes with AI tech for my photos so my Instagram game can be on point.

It also promises me that the insides of the phone will allow it to meet all the rest of the requirements….cause technology.

So let’s take a look at this phone that comes in at just $599 Australian dollars.,

Is Honor an attractive phone or will it underwhelm me with the norm?

Okay, so it looks really pretty…cause it is, standard black, white and gold colours are so last Apple.

So this new fancy color called ‘Aurora” got me acting like a magpie during mating season.  Mama want.

Look stylish – tick

Does it have a battery life that can outlast my childrens mood swings?

Battery life is incredibly important, everything is done on my phone.

From working to keeping children occupied, I need to know Honor can handle all apps going without chewing the battery life to death.

SO does it?

Well, the battery charges in minutes, should you get caught out, but in saying that it does do 5.5 hours of gaming, 19 hours of video playback, 160 hours of music playback, 21 hours of 4G browsing, or 23 hours of 3G talk.

Honors smart power will learn your behavior over time and optimize your phone accordingly.

So if you get caught out, you really need to check your phone usage…you, my friend, have a problem.

Can it handle itself straight out of the box?

Well it should, it comes with ram, rom and processors that seem to be more impressive than some laptops and its neural-network processing unit apparently enables the phone to understand you.

Your phone is listening to you and watching you in ways so it can understand your needs.

And isn’t that what we all want in life, someone who truly understands us?

The phone is also gamer ready, allowing for uninterrupted Gaming with a function that helps you keep your head in the game by filtering unnecessary calls or messages.

Its dual LTE/VoLT and dual 4G capabilties, also ensure a smooth gaming experience, provided your data provider has LTE and 4G capabilities.

Can it make my Instagram lit?

I hope so, its Artificial Intelligence combined with its dual lens 24MP and 16MP cameras best be making me look like a professional photographer.

Not only can it pinpoint the outlines of various surrounding objects, like the sky, plants, people or even a waterfall, and identify their locations instantly and automatically (so you don’t have to go through your image settings to get the right one) it also uses motion detection and supports 3D face recognition, optimising facial details and detects over a hundred facial points to pixel-level accuracy.

Will the screen survive a fall onto a bathroom floor?

Not sure, the last phone I got was the Huawei Mate 9 Pro whose screen shattered with the clearest of audible frequencies ever to grace a bathroom floor.

That was the last time anyone ever trusted me with a new yet to be released phone and I haven’t had one since.

What I can tell you is the back is made with 15 layers of glass on the back, which is a lot and therefore should handle a few knocks, but a screen is still a screen so with any phone a bit of caution and care should be applied.

What are the downsides?

Well, it’s not waterproof.

The reason why it’s not waterproof is that the honor view 10 keeps the headphone jack that most phones are getting rid of.

For me this isn’t really a downside, I’m too cheap to buy myself wireless headphones as I already have a million pairs of perfectly good headphones that require jacks.

Conclusion?

For its price I’m totally sold.

Available everywhere if you are looking for a new phone but don’t want to pay those laptop prices for a phone check out the Honor View 10.
