When it comes to cellphones there has been one consistent lament from consumers.

Phone battery life sucks.

And now Sony has stepped up to the battery life battleground currently dominated by Huawei’s Mate 8, to take it on, in the war of the battery.

Launched from today in NZ at Telecom, Vodafone and 2degrees (which gets the Sony Xperia X 11 July), the Sony Xperia X series boasts some very serious stats.

The Sony Xperia X and the Sony Xperia XA boasts up to 2 days battery with a 10min quick charge giving both phones 5.5hrs of use.

Lets just take a moment to digest that… TWO FRIGGEN DAYS, AND 10 MINS OF CHARGING GIVES 5.5HRS OF USE.

The cameras have always been a highlight on the Sony Xperia line and the X series is no different.

Sony Xperia XA boasts an impressive array of stats.

The XA version camera is a 13MP HDR rear camera with a 8MP front facing camera and comes with a curved glass display that maximises screenvideo play.

The X version camera however is 23MP / Predictive Hybrid Auto Focus / up to ISO12800, Sony ExmorRS™ for mobile image sensor / 24mm wide G Lens / Superior Auto+ / Quick launch / HDR photo / Full HD Video.

Basically, it shoots images like a bawsss.

The Sony Xperia X camera technology enhances image capturing and the battery life will leave you thankful

With faster response time, high-quality image processing added to the Predictive Hybrid Auto-focus which works by tracking an object and cleverly predicting its movement to produce clear, blur-free shots basically means if you can’t get a good photo from this.. you straight out just suck at photos.

While the selfie camera or front facing camera is an impressive 13MP / 22mm wide-angle lens / up to ISO6400 / HDR photo.

The lowlight sensors in this front facing cam mean’s that selfies be lit in the club.

Sony is very proud of this X series,

“There really is something for everyone in the new Xperia X Series. Design-focused users who prefer a sleek device that fits perfectly in their hand will be delighted by the stylish Xperia XA, while those looking for a handset that strikes the perfect balance between features and affordability will love the X. For power users who want the best of everything, the X Performance ticks all of the boxes,”

said John Featherstone, Managing Director of Sony Mobile Oceania.

As a special Xperia X Series launch offer, Xperia X Series handsets will for a limited time come with 12 bonus movie download, valued at more than $250.
