If you’re a Yahoo user who uses your Facebook or Google ID’s to log into Fantasy Sports or Flickr prepare to weep and sign up for another login.
Not long after celebrating 19years of Yahoo, access to enjoy any of Yahoo’s services will be denied gradually over a rollout process according to a Yahoo Spokeswomen. A complete 180 direction change to the strategy of the former CEO who implemented the process to begin with.
The first to require Yahoo ID is Yahoo Sports Tourney Pick’Em with the change made Monday just gone. And while other services are still able to be accessed using Google or Facebook ID’s don’t be mislead this will change. So probably better to prepare yourselves now.
The change is another significant change in just one year since Mayer became CEO which saw the company update many of its products such as Yahoo Mail and other key products. Yahoo users were surprised when told then that if they failed to activate their Yahoo ID’s within a year they would be made available or as Yahoo put it “recycled”. Which is not a bad thing, if you haven’t used your ID in a year you’ve probably forgotten what the password was anyway.
No timeframe has yet been announced as to when all of the services are expected to have made the Yahoo ID requirement mandatory.
